SUMMARY:

The Banquet and breakfast server set up assigned tables, retrieves and serves alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages, and food orders to guest tables according to hotel specifications and group requirements, courteously and efficiently and prepares the breakfast food, sets up the breakfast area, maintains and cleans up the breakfast area according to the brands guidelines.

Please be advised that this position does require proof of double vaccination.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Banquet

  • Set up meeting rooms according to BEO.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work areas and equipment according to Hotel Standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of service requirements such as detailed menu selections, ingredients, prices, station assignment and table settings.
  • Be aware of group name, type of function and expected attendance, scheduled hours of service and arrange for special requests.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by provincial liquor regulations, such as but not limited to prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies and service procedures.
  • Complete pre-function side work as assigned by supervisor.
  • Greet guests as they arrive and assist them with seating when necessary.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Remove all tabletop items, linen and equipment from the function room as designated by function requirements and in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Set up, monitor, refresh and breakdown coffee breaks, receptions and buffet tables for specified functions according to group requirements and departmental standards.
  • Complete closing side duties as assigned.
  • Bring Working lunches, coffee or light snacks into the meeting room on time if so requested by the setup sheet.
  • Clean the meetings rooms when not in use. Vacuum the carpets, spot clean walls, wipe off chairs, and dust all area of the rooms. They must keep all storage areas and Banquet stations clean an in orderly fashion.
  • Set the tables with any special items, such as place cards, candles or flowers directed by the banquet’s convener.

Breakfast

  • Prepare all food in the kitchen as required by standards
  • Set up the breakfast room prior to starting time
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work areas and equipment according to Hotel Standards.
  • Ensure that all amenities, food and beverages are always available to guests, according to standards
  • Greet guests as they arrive and assist them with seating when necessary.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Clean up the breakfast room during service hours
  • Clean up the breakfast area once service hours are over vacuum the carpets, spot clean walls, wipe off chairs, and dust all area of the rooms. All storage areas and Buffet stations must be clean and in orderly fashion.
  • Re-stock as needed.
  • Clean the kitchen area before end of shift.

Qualifications

  • Physically able to transport food and beverage trays weighing up to 65 pounds.
  • Physically able to transport all equipment, including tables and chairs.
  • Endure profuse physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Organization, efficiency and time management skills a must.
  • Perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Team Player.
  • Good communications skills
  • Adaptable to changes of workflow or requirements.
