We are looking for an experienced senior technical leader to play a pivotal role in building a leading-edge, cloud and mobile-enabled enterprise application for hospitals and clinics.

About you:

• Are a well-rounded full-stack developer and creative problem solver
• Have an understanding of building robust and mission critical enterprise software
• Have built technology solutions for healthcare providers
• Enjoy working in a fast paced and agile environment
• Are entrepreneurial, self-motivated and able to work independently
• Looking to expand leadership skills and transition into VP Engineering role

At NextUp Care, you will:

• Translate the business vision into a future-proof technology strategy
• Develop, test, release, and maintain complex software
• Produce high quality and well documented technical specifications and code
• Assess hiring needs as we grow, recruit and manage an engineering team

Qualifications:

• 7+ years working as a professional developer
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience with JavaScript, React, Angular, HTML5, CSS3, Java, REST APIs, ElasticSearch
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience with DevOps (Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins)
• Experience working with relational databases (MySQL)
• Deep familiarity with debugging, performance measurement and software testing strategies
• Experience with cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience building analytics, data visualization and reporting solutions
• Excellent oral and written communications skills

Additional skills:

• Experience building complex algorithms and rule-based systems
• Understanding of healthcare workflows, systems and HL7/FHIR standards for healthcare data
• Experience securing personal health information and electronic health records (HIPPA, PHIPA)
• Building interfaces to hospital information systems (e.g., Cerner, Meditech, Epic)
• Implementing machine learning/AI tools
• Prior experience working at a start-up
