Our enhanced change-room option is for our full feel members 18 years of age of older. The change-room amenities include:

  • Steam room
  • Whirlpool
  • Towel service & shower amenities
  • Lounge area with TV

*The enhanced add on must be coupled with one of the general access membership packages shown above.

Joiner Fee
A non-refundable Joiner Fee is required on joining. Please note, this is a one-time fee. If the membership is canceled and restarted, the Joiner Fee must be paid again if the period between cancellation date and restart date is greater than 120 days. Joiner Fees are subject to applicable HST. There is no Joiner Fee required for Youth and Teen Memberships.

Conditions and Agreements

  1. I have read, understand and freely accept the fee and method of payment information outlined within this agreement. I agree to the terms and sign on behalf of myself and any member(s) of my family joining the YMCA.
  2. A member may request to cancel their membership any time after three months. The request must be made in person with a minimum of 14 days notice by completing a cancellation form. Any payments falling within the 14 days must be paid in full, and the membership can still be used up to 13 days after the final payment has been made. If the membership is cancelled and restarted, the Joining Fee must be paid again if the period between the cancellation date and the restart date is greater than 120 days.
  3. Unless a cancellation form has been completed and authorized by membership staff, your membership with automatically be renewed on an ongoing basis and the pre-authorized payment will be adjusted to reflect the current membership fee. Members will be notified of fee increases at least 30 days prior to the change. Refunds are available on full-fee annual memberships. All full-fee annual membership cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 10% of the original membership fee. Cancellation fees will be deducted from any applicable refund. Any changes to tax rates will be applied according to the CRA and payments will reflect this change without notification.
  4. All NSF (non-sufficient funds) payments will be subject to a $30 service charge. The return of two payments will result in cancellation of the membership unless the amount owing has been fully paid before the cancellation date. Outstanding fees must be paid in order to rejoin the YMCA or register in any YMCA program.
  5. Membership to the YMCA entitles each individual to full use of cardio and weights areas, courts, open gym and pool times, attendance in non-registered fitness classes, and attendance in non fee-for-service youth and adult programs identified in the applicable program guide. The benefits are extended to members during posted hours of operation at each facility. No reimbursement will be paid for areas closed for maintenance.
  6. The applicant hereby acknowledges full understanding of any and all risks involved with the use of the YMCA; further, the applicant indemnifies and saves harmless the YMCA, its directors, employees, volunteers and agents from any liability in personal injury, loss, or theft resulting from participation in YMCA programs, services, or facilities.
  7. Membership cards need to be present and scanned upon each visit. Should a card be lost, a replacement can be provided at a $5.00 cost. A one-time exemption may be granted for a member who has forgotten their card at the discretion of membership staff. For the member to access the facility, they must present photo I.D..
  8. All guests or visitors brought in ages 16 and older must present photo I.D..
  9. Parents/Guardians of children under the age of 10 years must remain in the facility at all times while the child/children are attending programs, swim lessons, or recreational gym or swim times.
  10. The YMCA reserves the right to terminate membership privileges without refund, for an account that is overdue more than 28 days or suspend/cancel a membership in its sole discretion for inappropriate behaviour or failure to comply with the YMCA Etiquette Statement.

YMCA Etiquette Statement
The YMCA is a shared experience for everyone to enjoy. Each of us can make it better for all by being considerate to others. Our staff and volunteers will not tolerate the following: offensive or intimidating comments or jokes, bullying or aggressive behavior, displaying or circulating offensive pictures materials, inappropriate staring, sexual harassment, discrimination because of gender identity, or any other misconduct. Should any of these behaviours be observed, membership will be revoked immediately pending a full investigation. Similarly, weapons are strictly prohibited from the organization’s premises; violators will be subject to disciplinary action, and the incident will be reported to the police.

Privacy Statement
The YMCA is committed to protecting personal information by following responsible information handing practices in keeping with privacy laws. The YMCA uses modern information and communication technologies to support our YMCA activities. Our Privacy Statement covers the YMCA and our website. You can access our website home page and browse our website without disclosing your personal data. We collect information about you only if you volunteer it. We collect personal data you volunteer online in order to better meet your program, service and information needs. We also use and disclose data, which does not identify individuals, for statistical purposes to develop and enhance YMCA programs and services. We may also collect personal information in order to satisfy legal, government , and regulatory obligations. Because the YMCA wants your website experience to be informational and resourceful, our website also provides links to third-party sites. The YMCA assumes no responsibility for the information practices of sites you are able to access through our website. We encourage visitors to review each website’s privacy policy before disclosing any personally identifiable information. We do not sell personal information we collect. We will not disclose your personal information to anyone else without your prior knowledge or consent, except when required by a government body or agency, or as permitted by law. The YMCA maintains physical, electronic and administrative safeguards that are appropriate to the type of personal information we obtain from you. YMCA staff and volunteers having access to personal data are required to respect the confidentiality of personal information and handle it responsibly. E-mails sent from the YMCA may contain confidential information and are intended only for the individual(s) named. If you receive an e-mail from the YMCA and are not the addressee, you should not disseminate, distribute, or copy the e-mail. Please notify the sender immediately by e-mail if you have received an e-mail by mistake and delete the email from your system. E-mail transmission cannot be guaranteed to be secure or error-free as information could be intercepted, corrupted, lost, destroyed, arrive late or incomplete, or contain viruses. The sender therefore does not accept liability for any errors or omissions in the contents which arise as a result of e-mail transmission. Faxes sent from the YMCA are confidential and are only intended for the named recipients. If you have received a fax in error, and are not the named recipient, please immediately notify the sender by phone and destroy the fax and any attachments immediately. If you have an inquiry, complaint or concern about the YMCA’s information handling practices, or if you are aware of any inaccuracy or changes in the personal information which we hold about you, please contact us. The YMCA regularly reviews its policies and procedures to ensure we remain current with changing laws and evolving public expectations.

Gift Card Terms and Conditions
The actual gift certificate must be presented in order to make a YMCA purchase. Gift certificates may be used towards membership purchases, program purchases and merchandise at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario. Gift certificates have no expiration date and do not depreciate in value over time. There are no cash refunds for gift card purchases. The certificates will not be exchangeable for cash.

Joiner Fee

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Members may request to cancel their membership any time after 3 months. The request must be made in person 15 days prior to the next payment being withdrawn from their bank account or being debited from their credit card. Membership cards must be returned. A $5 fee will be applied if cards are not returned. If the membership is cancelled and restarted, the Facility Enhancement Fee must be paid again if the period between the cancellation date and the restart date is greater than 120 days.

Unless otherwise notified in writing, all perpetual memberships will be automatically renewed on an ongoing basis and pre-authorized payments will be adjusted to reflect the current membership fee. Members will be notified of fee increases at least 30 days prior to their next scheduled renewal. Refunds are available on cancelled full-fee annual memberships. All full-fee annual membership cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 10% of the original membership fee. Cancellation fees will be deducted from any applicable refund. Any changes to tax rates will be applied according to CRA and payments will reflect this change without notification.
