As of Monday, March 8th, our region falls within the Red Zone (Control) in the COVID-19 response framework.

What does this mean for your YMCA?

  • We are expanding our hours effective Monday, March 8th. We will be open Monday to Friday, 6:00am-9:00pm and Saturdays from 8:00am-4:00pm. This will allow us to accommodate more members.
  • As of Monday, March 8th, pre-booking will be required for all areas of the YMCA. This includes the gymnasium, studio outside of class times (TRX, bikes, free weights and bands will be available), fitness centre, pool, fitness classes and squash courts. Please note you can only use the squash courts individually, no team play allowed. You can book time slots up to 60 minutes and there is a maximum of 10 people per area. Please arrive ready to work out to minimize time in changerooms. You may bring your bag with you in the fitness area.

You can book your time at the YMCA through our online member portal, similar to how you sign up for fitness classes. Online booking will be available as of Monday, March 8th at 5:00am and opens daily at 5:00am afterwards.

In addition to the changes above, please remember to review our health and safety protocols below:

  • Physical distancing measures to maintain 3 metres between others
  • Increased sanitization and disinfection
  • Increased hand-sanitizing stations
  • Barriers at Membership Desks
  • Screening including temperature checks upon entry
  • Single one-way directional entry and exits
  • Contactless scan-in stations
  • Staff and volunteers available to assist you

Please remember to bring a face covering and wipe equipment down before and after each use.

You are asked to take a self-assessment prior to visiting the YMCA. This can be found on the Government of Ontario website here. When you scan your membership card, you acknowledge that you have passed the self-screening questionnaire.

Thank you for helping us keep our YMCA safe and healthy for everyone.

We are thrilled to share that your YMCA will be re-opening on Wednesday, March 10th at 6:00am. The pool will re-open on Monday, March 15th. We will be sharing more information on what this means specifically for our health and safety protocols as well as our programs and services on Monday, March 8th by email, on our social media and on our website.

Memberships that were suspended during temporary closure will be reactivated upon re-opening. Your next payment date will be within that same week. Depending on your payment schedule, the first payment will be either Friday, March 12th or Friday, March 19th. We will share more details on Monday.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Jay Mater, Branch Manager, by email at jay.mater@ymcaneo.ca.

We look forward to welcoming you back to your YMCA!
