Coordinator, Residential Addiction Treatment
- Department : Substance Use Recovery and Shelter Services
- Employment Status : Full-Time Permanent
- Hours per Week: 35 hours weekly

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager, Substance Use Recovery and Shelter Services, the Residential Addiction Treatment Program Coordinator will provide oversight and support to a Residential Substance Use Treatment Program. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the coordinator is responsible for the coordination of programs and services and leadership supervision of front-line staff. They bring specialized knowledge and experience in supporting individuals through recovery, with the aim of achieving and sustaining abstinence and sobriety goals.
The Coordinator is required to work a combination of weekday and evening shifts and as part of a regular on-call rotation; weekends as required.

Qualifications:
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in health, social services or related discipline. Consideration will also be given to those who are working towards completion of a degree; OR
Completion of a 2 year diploma plus 5+ years working within CMHA-S/M. - Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the mental health and substance use field is required.
- 1 year supervisory experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated comfort and confidence providing direct support to individuals impacted by mental illness and substance use.
- Strong communication skills are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Fluency in English is essential. Advanced conversational French is essential for 40% of these positions. Priority will be given to candidates who are bilingual in French and English as per our French Language Service Plan. If no bilingual candidates (both internal and external) meet the qualifications, unilingual English- speaking candidates may be considered.
- Professional Designation/Certification (one of the following are required):
- Registration, in good standing, with a regulating professional body Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Worker (e.g.OCSWSSW); or
- Certification, in good standing, with a professional certifying organization* within health or social service fields e.g. Certified Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Practitioner (CPRRP) from Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR Canada); or
- Working towards obtaining one of the above within 6 months of hire
*Organization must have a written code of ethics, core values and standards that are consistent with those of CMHA-S/M. Certification must require members to meet a core set of competencies, have a requirement for continuous learning to maintain certification and be approved by CMHA-S/M.
Salary:
- Hourly, Step 1: $38.30 – Step 5: $45.60
*Successful candidates for this position will start at Step 1 of the salary grid.
