HVAC Technician – Reliance Home Comfort

Reliance Home Comfort is hiring a qualified HVAC Technician for its Sudbury location.

The successful candidate will professionally service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment, water heaters, and related accessories according to manufacturer specifications and applicable local codes. The technician will also ensure the safe operation of equipment and explain proper care and maintenance to customers.

Main Duties

• Service, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment, water heaters, and related accessories
• Ensure equipment operates safely and complies with manufacturer specifications and local codes
• Explain equipment operation, care, and maintenance to customers
• Diagnose technical issues and provide appropriate solutions
• Build positive and professional relationships with customers
• Recommend additional Reliance products and services when appropriate
• Maintain the company vehicle in a clean, organized, and safe condition
• Participate in rotating shifts and standby duties as required
• Work safely indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Required Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Valid Gas Technician II licence
• Ontario 313D Air Conditioning Mechanic Certificate of Qualification
• Valid Ozone Depletion Prevention card
• Valid Class G driver’s licence
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to understand and learn new technologies, including electronics and electricity
• Must be punctual, dependable, and willing to learn
• Must be physically capable of completing all required duties

Preferred Experience

• Three to five years of field experience servicing HVAC equipment and water heaters is considered an asset

Physical Requirements

• Occasionally lift approximately 15 kilograms up to shoulder height
• Frequently bend and occasionally squat or kneel
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Work in environments that may be dusty, wet, or slippery
