Housing Support Worker Program

Youth in Transition and Housing Support Services continues to provide service remotely during the closure of the office of the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario due to COVID -19. Youth aged 16-24 who have been in the care of a Children’s Aid Society or other Child & Family Services agencies, as well as youth who are leaving care, or who are voluntarily in the care of a Children’s Aid Society, are also eligible for these programs.

We are closely monitoring the COVID 19 public health emergency situation and following recommendations of Sudbury District Health unit during this time.

Les Services de transition et de soutien au logement continuent à fournir des services à distance pendant la fermeture du bureau du YMCA du Nord-Est de l’Ontario en raison du COVID -19.

Les jeunes âgés de 16 à 24 ans qui ont été pris en charge par une Société d’aide à l’enfance ou d’autres organismes de services à l’enfance et à la famille, ainsi que les jeunes qui quittent les soins ou qui sont volontairement pris en charge par une société d’aide à l’enfance, sont également admissibles à ces programmes.

A program designed to support youth between 16-17 years of age, who are voluntarily in the care of a Children’s Aid Society.

  • Assisting youth with identifying their housing needs
  • Providing ongoing support to obtain and retain housing
  • Supporting youth with identifying, navigating and accessing services relevant to their needs (financial literacy, household management, tenant skills)
  • Access to employment and skill based workshops
