Programs for Employers and Business Owners

Training expenses make up a large cost for businesses. The Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) is a great way for businesses to gain financial assistance when purchasing training for their existing employees and new hires. Our YMCA staff will take the work off your shoulders and set you up with the funding you need to ensure that you have an exceptionally trained workforce.

Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG)

The Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) is a Government-funded grant that offsets the cost of training for new and existing employees.

Large employers (100 or more employees) pay at least 1/2 of direct training costs, up to $10,000 per trainee
Additional flexibility for small employers (fewer than 100 employees) to contribute 1/6 of eligible training costs.
Small employers who are training and hiring unemployed individuals may be eligible for 100% funding and up to $15,000 per trainee.
Support now available towards the cost of textbooks, software and other training materials and travel costs
Employer selects employees to be trained and appropriate training offered by eligible third-party trainers
