Ages Served and Programs

Early Learning Child Care programs operate Monday to Friday, opening as early as 6:30 am and closing as late as 7:00 pm, year-round, with many of our locations offering after-hours care.

We offer a variety of nutritious morning and afternoon snacks and lunches prepared by an on-site cook or caterer in accordance with the Canada Food Guide.

Our full day early learning child care programs are licensed by the Ministry of Education and follow the Ministry’s Policy Statement on Programming and Pedagogy, which includes, “How Does Learning Happen?” Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years and Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT).

Our National YMCA Playing to Learn™ curriculum focuses on small group, play-based inquiry, led by our qualified early educators who engage in play to help your child learn and grow to their full potential.

YMCA Licensed Home Child Care is often the child care of choice for parents who are looking for a quality program in a “family style” environment that offers greater flexibility (extended hours, overnights and weekend care) with a smaller group size.

Through a careful selection process, each Self-employed Provider is supported by our YMCA Home Child Care Consultants, who visit each home regularly to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and compliance with Ministry of Education and YMCA legislation and policies. For more information regarding our Licensed Home Child Care Services, please contact us at 705-497-9622 ext. 257 or toll free at 1-833-237-6026 ext. 257.
