As a part of YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s charitable purpose, we are continuously working to make camp more financial affordable for all. Below you will find our John Island Camp Alumni and Friends Bursary, Campership Program, and payment plan information.
John Island Camp Alumni and Friends Bursary
The John Island Camp Alumni and Friends Bursary is a new financing opportunity for campers and their families to attend camp. Any summer campers/camper families can apply and the application forms can be found below:

The YMCA is dedicated to providing an experience that is accessible and open to all. If you want your child to attend summer camp, we want to do our best to support making that happen. The YMCA’s Campership Program is designed to do just that. We offer special funding and extended payment plans for anyone who finds that camp fees can sometimes be unmanageable.
How do I apply?
How long does it take to assess?
It is our customer service obligation to provide a fast response to your request, but incomplete information and missing documents will significantly delay confirmation and processing of your application. Please allow 3 weeks for your application to be processed, at which time you will be contacted at the preferred number listed on your application. Note: We will cannot accept applications that are submitted within 3 weeks of the program start date.
How do I submit my application?
You must complete the Financial Assistance Application Form and submit all required supporting documents. Complete applications can be submitted by one of the following methods:

Does my application hold my space in a camp program?
Submitted applications do not hold a space in a camp program. In order to secure your child’s space please allow for your application to be processed and payments to be scheduled. To immediately secure your space the full deposit specified to the program is required.
Payment plans are also available for families who are requesting a fee reduction or those that would just like to spread the payments over a series of months to lessen the the final amount due on on June 1, 2019. Get in touch with the Camping Services Office at (705)674-6171 in order to speak with a camp representative to develop a payment plan that works for your needs.
How Can I Contribute?
The Campership program is funded through generous contributions by camp families, camp staff, local businesses, and other community partners. This year, help put a smile on a child’s face – consider making a $10.00 donation to the YMCA Campership program when you fill out your camp registration. The donation is tax deductible and every dollar helps send a child to camp.
